Status Effects

Status effects are a game mechanic in Schism. There are 6 status effects in the game (as of update 0.1.3) that can be inflicted upon enemies.

Status Effects

BLEED, POISON and BURN cause damage over time and have certain traits that differ between them. Charm, Confusion and Stun do not damage enemies directly, but can be used to gain the advantage in combat rooms.

Bleeding stops after a set amount of ticks
+BLEED% increases damage dealt per tick
BLEED damage scales off player and weapon damage
Chance for attacks to cause BLEED scales with LCK

POISON Chance for attacks to apply poison
Poison lasts forever and stacks infinitely, but ticks slowly
+POISON increases amount of poison applied, for every attack that applies poison

BURN Chance for attacks to cause burning
Burning stops after a set amount of ticks
+BURNx increases burning damage every tick
BURNx multiplies with INT
Chance for attacks to cause BURN scales with LCK

Charm Charmed enemies attack other enemies in the room
Attacks are colored white and do not harm the player
Charm stops after a duration
Only scales with INT in certain scenarios Demo
Confusion Confused enemies move and attack in random directions
Attacks from enemies can harm and kill other enemies, including contact damage
Confusion stops after a duration

Stun Stunned enemies cannot move or attack for a short time
The player can be stunned in some cases and cannot act while stunned
Stun stops after a very short duration
