The Holy G is a weapon in Schism. It is a white handgun with a sky-blue grip, and a decal imposed onto the handle. When fired, it shoots a weak projectile that has no special properties, apart from having a unique sprite. A cross-like muzzle flash also appears when the weapon is shot.

It is weaker than most weapons in the game, even the Prison Issue, but always provides +1 FAI to the player's stats when in the inventory, seperate from any Stat Grip weapon mods that it may also appear with.

Synergies & Interactions

The Holy G weapon can interact with other relics, weapons ect. in specific ways. These interactions have been listed below.
+ Positive, = Neutral, - Negative

Relics

  • + Dark Pact: The bonus FAI slightly increases the average return value of the Dark Pact active relic.

Gods

  • + Chaos God: The innate +FAI is immune to the Chaos god's stat randomization. Furthermore, the FAI stat scales exponentially with the Chaos god, which essentially means that every extra point in FAI increases faith gain even more than the last. This boosts the value of the Holy G in tandem.

Cards

  • + Faith No More: The bonus FAI makes it slightly easier to recuperate the lost favor level.

Tips

  • The Holy G is very unlikely to be the best weapon choice for combat during a run, except for situations where it may spawn in the 1st floor reward center with procedurally-generated stat upgrades and mods.
  • However, the Holy G's +1 FAITH stat can provide value in almost any situation, and can potential appear with beneficial weapon mods on top of that. Consider carrying it in your inventory to further increase your FAI and/or make up for any deficits.

Notes

  • The cross flash is purely visual and provides no benefits in gameplay.
  • The Holy G's stats are almost identical to that of the Prison Issue; the only difference is that the former has 3 less ATK than the latter.

Trivia

  • The cross that flashes when firing the weapon may be a reference to the Christian cross, the de-facto symbol of Jesus Christ and Christianity as a whole.
  • The muzzle flash may alternatively represent the generic shape of a sword.
  • The 'G' in the Holy G's name may be an abbreviation, potentially for the word 'gun,' but it could also expand into 'grail' to make the words 'Holy Grail,' which is the name of a holy artifact that has strong connections with Christianity and adjacent beliefs.
  • The sprite of the Holy G bears a striking resemblance to the Prison Issue's sprite; the silhouettes of each weapon are identical, but the Holy G appears to have a unique color scheme compared to the dull visuals of the Prison Issue.
  • This may suggest a connection between the two weapons in the game's lore. However, it is equally likely that this is just a coincidence and was done to save time in development.
